January 2, 2010: 2lbs a week

Happy New Year everyone! I bought a Wii Fit Plus yesterday and it is so much fun! I get to fly like a chicken, pretend I'm Chuck Norris, and be drum majorette in a band. Fun!

Ok, I have to come up with an exercise routine. I always start out strong and then gradually fade away. Last year I went to the gym every day for about a month; then 5days a week, then 4, then every other day... *sigh.

I have everything I need at home to do this! I have a treadmill (it barely works but it works!), I have a yoga and bosu ball, I have Wii Fit Plus. At school on Monday I'm going to join the Biggest Loser Contest. Maybe a little competition will help.

I'm scared! Every time I've tried to lose weight I've ended up gaining! I really, really, really don't want to weigh more than I do now. So, here's to perseverance, dedication, a little bit of luck in the new year.

Hopefully, my next post will have the routine I want on it. The only thing I know right now is that I'm aiming for 2lbs a week loss. *fingers crossed*

  1. Hooray for commitment! Try again, Sara, and you can do it! You have me to support you (and maybe harass you from time to time). I know how hard this is, but you're here.

    What is your plan today, then? I am dragging my boys to the YMCA if they ever wake up. Elliptical and strength training are in my future.

  2. I'm right there with you! I have got to get the elliptical back in my life. I'm covered with yoga and weight lifting, but aerobics have to be in the mix (at least for me they do). I guess if I'd get sugar out of the mix, I wouldn't need the elliptical!! Good luck...
